Biography Spinifex: Spinifex is The Netherlands famous jazz ensemble. It is the flagship ensemble of the Karnatic Lab Foundation. Constantly seeking out the challenge of crossing stylistic borders, non-Western world music encounters Western jazz in India in January 2012. The music, written by Gijs Levelt, Tobias Klein and Ned McGowan is steeped in influences from Karnatic music (Southern India).
